There is a neat little seaside restaurant in the picture below. We didn't eat there, but maybe we will at some point. Instead we ate pizza with some margaritas and mojitos at the poolside restaurant.
Mike decided to go down to the Sea for a dip, but it is quite chilly. We found out the Sea temperature today was at 20˚C ( 68˚F). To give some perspective, this also happens to be the current ocean temperature at Manhattan Marina in New York City. Needless to say, most people here lay on the beach for a tan, and swim in the pool.
Also, we found a cute little fruit tree next to our building. It is a tangerine tree. Tangerines are named after the city of Tangier. They came from this Moroccan port city and shipped to Europe, back in the day...and still do.
We ordered takeout from the hotel restaurant so we could watch the soccer game in our living room. We took a couple pics of us by the beach and pool while we were waiting for the meal to be ready.
Also, we couldn't help ourselves, we had to get some Spanish candy. We couldn't read anything on the wrapper, but they looked good. The one on the top in the brown wrapper is like a peanut butter and chocolate kit kat. The purple one is just a plain chocolate bar, nothing else in it but chocolate. The one in the red wrapper on the bottom is like a chocolate wafer candy with rice krispies on top. All very strange, edible, but we would likely not get them again.
We are making it an early night tonight because we have a very busy day tomorrow (Monday). We're going to the town of Ronda, the site of Spain's first bullring and bullfight. We also plan to visit a local winery & olive farm, and other cool things. We also have to go to a Farmacia (drug store) and Supermercado (grocery store), since none of these are open on Sundays (they are only open M-S from 10a-2p then reopen at 6pm-9pm to make time for a siesta).
