Our first night we were so tired form the long flight, then the long drive (in rush hour traffic) from Denver, that we got to the hotel, ate, and went to bed to rest up for the big day ahead. Saturday, we got up, had breakfast at The Coffee Depot, and then got changed into our ski gear. Next we head to get our skis, lift passes, and we're off!
It snowed 7" today in Breckenridge, it felt like most of it came down while we were skiing! Temps were in the low 20s with strong winds which made the wind chill below zero. Sometimes while you were riding the lifts, you could feel them shaking in the wind, and skiing was hard sometimes simply because visibility was so low. Below is our video to prove it.
TG all bundled up and waving from the ski lift. Anti-fog goggles and a balaclava are a must today.
Time for a break in the Lodge bar. We got a couple pineapple/mango margaritas, some lunch, and watched a little bit of the OSU basketball game.
Then....back out again for more skiing. Nobody got injured, and TG was proud that she didnt fall today (MB says his fall was on purpose so he could take pictures).
After skiing was over, we indulged in some much needed recovery time in the hot tub. The wind was still blowing snow everywhere, so that by the time we left the hot tub, we had ice crystals on our hair, on our clothes, and worst of all.....our towels were coated in snow and ice.
Dinner time....Breckenridge Brewery was great. MB's buffa-loaf was the best meatloaf (technically buffalo is still meat) we have ever had at a restaurant. Fajitas were good too.
Now its time to relax, take some pain medication, and wait for our bodies to be really sore when we get up tomorrow. Then, go skiing again.
